Christmas Gift Advice

A private number plate can make the perfect gift. You can secure a registration mark for your loved one now and use it later - we have provided the following advice to help you further.

Important: Remember to enter your name and address during the order process as we will send the confirmation to you. You can give the registration mark to your chosen recipient, whenever you like.

Assigning the registration mark to a vehicle

If you have found a registration mark that you would like to give as a gift, you can secure it now and either assign the registration mark to the vehicle before Christmas OR give the gift on Christmas day and let us or the recipient handle the transfer later.

Please note: To assign a registration mark to a vehicle you’ll need access to the vehicle documents. If you want to assign the registration mark in time for use on Christmas day, we advise that you submit your transfer or supply us with vehicle documents by 8th December at the latest.

When the transfer is complete, the DVLA will supply new vehicle documentation to the registered keeper. If this is likely to spoil the surprise then we advise that you submit the transfer after Christmas.

Gift upgrades

If you want to keep the purchase as a surprise and don’t want to risk the registered keeper receiving documentation from DVLA before Christmas, we suggest you complete the transfer later and consider the following order upgrades:

Gift Certificate: Presented in a gift folder tied with a beautiful bow and certifying that the registration mark has been purchased for the recipient. Sent by Special Delivery* on the same day if ordered by 2pm (Mon-Fri) - meaning that it would be guaranteed to arrive the following day by 1pm, except Sundays.
*Must be signed for.

Acrylic Number Plates: Ideal gift to unwrap on Christmas day, we can deliver these directly to you but you can't fit them on the vehicle until the transfer/assignment is completed.

Some notes and definitions: Transfers and gift upgrades for registrations shown as "Check it now" will depend on the individual status of each mark, as they are pre-owned. For advice on these, please ask on your enquiry form or give us a call on 01792 477 316.
